Statement of Interest:
Throughout the last two years, I have had the privilege to serve on the Texas Academy of Audiology (TAA) Board of Directors as the Treasurer/Secretary, and I am honored to have the opportunity to run to continue my service in this capacity. I have lived in Texas for four years and I am truly grateful to belong to the incredible community of audiologists in this state - it is exciting to work with other audiologists who are just as passionate as I am about improving access to care, increasing public awareness of hearing healthcare, and fostering community and connections between audiologists across the state of Texas.
During my time on the Board of Directors, I have been able to work with other board members to ensure that we provide Texas audiologists access to excellent continuing education through our annual conferences and advocate for important audiology related legislation at the state level. I hope to continue my service on the Board of Directors as the treasurer/secretary for the next two years, assisting in ensuring productive and efficient meetings that enable us to better serve the audiologists of Texas and working to make sure our finances can support our continued growth as an organization. My experience serving in this capacity over the last two years puts me in an excellent position to continue to work on various TAA initiatives.
In addition, my experience working closely with the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) as the chair of the Student Academy of Audiology Advisory Committee and AAA Foundation, and as a volunteer for various conference planning committees, has helped me create a wide network of audiology contacts across the country as we look to collaborate with other states, introduce new legislation that pushes our profession forward, and identify excellent speakers for our annual conferences.
Thank you for your consideration - it has been a true honor serving Texas audiologists and I look forward to continuing to work and collaborate with you for years to come!
