Program Specialist V * Under the supervision of the Manager of the Newborn Screening Support group servies as subject matter expert for Audiology Programs. Specifically serves as team lead for the Newborn Hearing Screening Program and the Program for Amplification for Children of Texas (PACT). Works collaboratively with staff in the development of procurement documents, the management and monitoring of contracts/grants and coordinates with the appropriate Department of State Health Services (DSHS) program and other state agencies in the development of statewide initiatives. Responsible for on-going long range and shortterm planning related to audiology services and hearing screening programs. Develops rules, policies and procedures to administer the programs outlined by federal and state legislation. Works with community groups, local and regional health departments, childcare facilities, hospitals, health care provicer organizations, and other state and federal agencies to assure public involvement in program planning and implementation.
