New 2012 TAA Board Members

Congratulations to President-Elect: Jackie Clark, Ph.D.
Jackie Clark

Dr. Clark currently is a Clinical Associate Professor UT Dallas' School of Brain & Behavior Sciences, and has been awarded the Research Scholar at the University of The Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. She carries an active clinical caseload at The Callier Center as well at her private practice in Tool, Texas. Her research interests include speech in noise performance, tele-audiology, and cognitive impact on audition. In addition to being the past Director of TAA Publications, she is currently the Managing Editor of the International Journal of Audiology. She has authored many peer reviewed research articles, some book chapters, and has been invited to lecture in many parts of the world.

Congratulations to Member-at-Large: Karen Ditty, Au.D.
Karen Ditty

Karen Ditty has been working as a Pediatric Audiologist over 30 years. Prior to moving to Texas in 1999, Dr. Ditty worked 18 years in Baton Rouge, LA where she was an active proponent and involved in the passage of the Universal Newborn Hearing Screening (UNHS) law. Ditty chaired the Louisiana Speech-Language-Hearing Association Political Action Committee from 1992-1996 and was actively involved from 1996-2000. After moving to Texas, she has helped establish UNHS programs at several Houston area hospitals and continues to oversee programs in the Houston and Dallas Area. Ditty works with the Texas Early Hearing Detection and Intervention Program (TEHDI) as a part-time contractor with the Department of Health and with Oz-Systems. Dr. Ditty is also an Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) technical advisor for the National Center for Hearing Assessment and Management (NCHAM). In this position she assists health departments, hospitals and personnel as an advisor, workshop presenter, and information disseminator regarding Early Hearing Detection and Intervention. Dr. Ditty continues to be a mentor/facilitator for Audiologists involved in the Pediatric Audiology Training Workshops that NCHAM has conducted since 2002.

 

Congratulations to Member-at-Large: Cristen Plummer, Au.D.
Cristen Plummer

Dr. Plummer received her Bachelors of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 1991 and Masters of Arts in Audiology in 1993, both from The University of Texas in Austin. She later earned her Doctorate of Audiology from AT Still University of Health Sciences in 2007. Dr. Plummer has been employed by Hearing Aid Express since 1995, and her experience is in the evaluation of hearing, and the fitting and servicing of hearing aids and assistive listening devices. She works with the deaf and hard-of-hearing of all ages, from pediatric to adult and elderly populations.
